Good morning. Up later, slept well and as long as I could - my back said, "I hurt, get up and get moving!" So I did. I really do not like Sunday mornings any more - I am up early but do not leave for church until 10:00 - what do I do with the interim 4 hours? And when I get home from church, it is too late to do anything - by the time we finish lunch, church is in another 4 hours. Then I have the same decision - what do I do with the interim 4 hours? I will figure it out, I have options, none of which I really like, but I have options.
Today is Church. folks are beginning to get back from vacations. School and holiday season is just around the next bend -and with it all our snowbirds. I am looking forward to it!
Thanks, Dave (Stokes), for the reminder - my heart aches, my spirit rejoices!
Yesterday was a good day. Worked out in the hot sun all day - I loved it - but had to rest and hydrate often. Got a lot of work done. We went to Lowe's to get a sprinkler head - the only place we went all day. Finished off the turkey (salad) - that bird fed us all week!
Tomorrow is back to work - hope for a much better week. Just got to remember rule 63!
GUIDELINES & GUARDRAILS
Psalm 97:11 - Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.
Proverbs 20:27 - The spirit of a man is the lamp of the Lord, searching all the inner depths of his heart.
Bible Pathways (reading thru the Bible once more in 1 - 4) - Proverbs 1 - 3
My Notes on "THE SUNDAY SERMON"
We returned to our study of James this morning. I really need a faith that works - I am so discouraged!

My Notes on "THE SUNDAY SERMON"
We returned to our study of James this morning. I really need a faith that works - I am so discouraged!
FAITH THAT WORKS
"An exposition of the Epistle of James"
( James 2:14-20)
A Faith That Does NOT Work!
We are saved faith, not works;
but we are saved by a faith that works.
James gives us this test of faith in this passage:
If it is not effective, it is not effectual!
Jesus Asks Us Four Questions:
I. Are you Free? Jn 8:31,32
Are you abiding? Are you living in the world or the word?
"If you abide in my word, you are my disciples indeed. And
you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
II. Are you His Disciple? Jn 15:5
Are you bearing?
"He who abides in me...bears much fruit;"
III. Are you His Friend? Jn 15:14
Are you doing?
"You are my friends if you do whatever I command you.
IV. Are you His Witness? Jn 15:27
Are you telling?
"And you also will bear witness,"
Good works does not prove faith;
but faith always produces good works!
Saved by Grace . . . Living by Faith,
Mike
