My Prayer For "My Next Thirty Years"

Heavenly Father, teach me to number my days that I may gain a Heart
of Wisdom and fulfill your purpose for my life today.

Sunday, August 24, 2014

Good morning.  Got all the sleep I needed but was up and wide awake a couple of times in the night.  Do not understand that.  Just an odd night.  Nothing wrong, just different.

Day 1568 - Living "My Next Thirty Years" one day at a time.  Today, I will remember That "waiting on the Lord" involves more work than it does wait.

Today is Church and rest, maybe a little work.  Maybe the gym too.   I guess if I did more during the week, I would not resent not having time to do more on the weekend.   Still having a hard time with my Sunday schedule.

Yesterday was a good day.  Went to breakfast with Doris at CB, finished mowing the yard, went to the gym.  Doris fixed pork chops for supper.  Watched "Bears" on TV.  Jean called - they made it to the north side of Chattanooga and are having a good trip.

Tomorrow is back to work.  Looking forward to a good week.  We celebrate our 41st wedding anniversary tomorrow too.  It has not always been easy for Doris - but she has stuck with me.

Hope to spend the weekend with the little boys!

GUIDELINES & GUARDRAILS

Psalm 118:28,29 - Thou are my god, and I will praise thee:  Thou are my God, I will exalt thee.  O give thanks unto the Lord; for He is good:  for his mercy endureth for ever.

Proverbs 24:16 - For a just man falleth seven times and riseth up again:  but the wicked shall fall into mischief.

Bible Pathways (reading thru the Bible once more in 1 - 4) - Jeremiah 34 - 36  Without a doube\t, the godly suffer because of the sins of others.  But without a doubt, too, God is able to bless the faithful as he did Daniel.

My notes on "THE SUNDAY SERMON"

FAITH THAT WORKS
"An Exposition of the Epistle of James"
(James 3: 1-12)

"Ten Tip To Tame The Tongue"
(Part 1 - The Grievous Sins)

 1.  Don't lie!
To lie is to destroy the truth, to deny the truth, to deceive
those who seek the truth.  -  Colossians 3:9

2.  Don't cuss
To use foul and filthy language is to destroy decency, to
downgrade common morality, and to show personal
     disrespect.  -  Ephesians 5:4

3.  Don"t Gossip!
To use slander, to gossip, is to destroy the unity of the faith,
the fellowship and the family.  Run from it and refuse to hear
     it.  -  Matthew 18:15; Jeremiah 9:24,25

4.  Don't Boast!
To boast destroys our usefulness. A servant seeks only to
honor and to receive the approval of his master.
     Isaiah 10:15; Daniel 4: 30-37

5.  Don't lose it!
To be quick-tempered and angry destroys the peace of the
heart, the peace of the home,  and the peace of His house.
     Philippians 4:5; Proverbs 14:29
