My Prayer For "My Next Thirty Years"

Heavenly Father, teach me to number my days that I may gain a Heart
of Wisdom and fulfill your purpose for my life today.

Sunday, November 9, 2014

Good morning.  Rainy and cooler - cool front passing thru.  It is going to clear out and be sunny and warm most of the coming week.  Up later this morning and enjoying a leisure Sunday morning - but finding myself getting busy anyway.

Day 1645 - Living, "My Next Thirty Years" one day at a time.  Today, I will remember nothing is perfect, but that most is good enough.  And everything is for my good and His glory!  I arise, O God, to do thy will!

Today is Church and cooking steaks out on our new grill - in the rain.  Good day to watch old westerns and nap.  May work a little on clearing/cleaning/organizing my desk.  Got to get things ready for the little boys on Thanksgiving.  Plan to go up there for Christmas - actually the weekend before Christmas to see their new place, to celebrate Payton's birthday, and to take them their Christmas presents.

Yesterday was a good day.  Worked, and all went well.  Except that I lock my self out of my car and had to have Doris come and get me.  I found a spare key in my junk box so everything is ok.  Lesson learned, again!

Tomorrow is Monday - UGH!  But it is just a four day work week this week.  Every week should be a four-day work-week, at least for me!  Then maybe I could find a second part-time job!

Hope to finish more than I start this week.

GUIDELINES & GUARDRAILS

Psalm 41:1,2 - Blessed is he who considers the poor:  The Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.  The Lord will preserve him and keep him alive, and he will be blessed on the earth:  You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies.

Proverbs 9:6 - Forsake foolishness and live, and go in the way of understanding.  The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

Bible Pathways (reading thru the Bible once more in 1 - 4) - Acts 1 - 3

My Notes on "The Sunday Sermon"

Ushered again today - way to much confusion.  It is important that the Ushers be flexible, but not to be in the dark - makes us look and feel confused.  And there is reason for there to be 10-12 men (leaders) in the back talking at 10:29!  We have just got to get rid of them or to make room for them by removing the back row of chairs.  But I am sure it only bothers me, or someone would surely do something about it.  Just saying.

Started James chapter 5 today.

FAITH THAT WORKS
"An Exposition of the Epistle of James"
( James 5:1-6 )

The Miseries of Riches; and the Four Practices That Protect Us from Those Miseries!
(James 5:1)

  I.  Don't Hoard, but Give - vs2,3

 II.  Don't Hold, but Pay - v4

III.  Don't Hog, but Save - v5

IV.  Don't Hurt, but Warn - v6

Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy.  Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share.
(I Timothy 6:17,18)

Wealth is having more then we need.  Riches are providing for those who have less then they need.

Saved by Grace . . . Living by Faith,
Mike
