Good morning,  Up late - I will never catch up now!  Warm, cloudy, rainy this morning but will clear and have a lot more sun this afternoon.  A really good time to be late and to let it all go.  But I can't!

Day 1699 - Living "MNTY" one day at a time.  Today, I will remember that there is no destination in this life, it is all about the journey.  Once you have set the GPS, sit back and enjoy the trip.

Today is MMM and "finishing up" at the Cooleys.  The Gym too.  And some work around the House and yard.  Need to make a decision soon about what to do with my little car.  I so not have a lot of options - but do have to do something.  Or maybe, nothing?  Nothing is something, I guess?

Yesterday was a good day.  A good day at work - but projecting about a really "bad" week next week - Teresa is off for a week - I will have to really try hard to mind my own business.  I should not have to - it should be "our "business but it is not!

Tomorrow is Church -first Sunday of the New Year - beginning a study in Philippians. It will be an interesting year.   I know that more changes are coming - I only wish they were changes I would like to see - but I am too old to matter.  At our last breakfast meeting, my one request of Pastor Phillip was that he would not ignore the "old men" of the church.

This coming week is the Spaghetti Dinner on Wednesday,  Pick up the Cooleys on Thursday, and I work Saturday.  CCA prayer time is this Saturday too.  Next Sunday is my Birthday, I will begin my 69th year - my next thirty are going to be a real hoot!

MY RUDDER AND ANCHOR

Psalm 11:3,4 - If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?  The Lord is in His holy temple, The Lord's throne is in heaven; His eyes behold, His eyelids test the sons of men.

Proverbs 3:3,4 - Let not mercy and truth forsake you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart, and so find favor and high esteem in the sight of God and man.

The Word is Alive in 1 - 5  (Reading Genesis 7-9)  Noah was able to save his family and preserve mankind because o His faith in the spoken Word of God led him to build the ark.  Jesus is our Ark, our faith is in the Living Word of God!

From "Knowing God" by J. I. Packer - "Meditating on the Truth"  Its effect is ever to humble us, as we contemplate God's greatness and glory and our own littleness.  And to comfort us as we contemplate the unsearchable riches of divine mercy displayed in the Lord Jesus Christ.  God help us, then, to put our knowledge about God to this use, that we all may in truth "know the Lord."

MMM - just some thoughts:  (1) Began step meeting this morning - was late, but they started the meeting before I got there anyway!  (2) I was unprepared but determined to go thru the steps with the group.  (3) Sometime, step one happens to you more than you taking the step - that is Providence!

Saved by Grace . . . Living by Faith,
Mike

A Prayer - "O Father of glory, this is the cry of our hearts - to be changed from one degree of glory to another, until, in the resurrection, at the last trumpet, we are completely conformed to the image of your son, Jesus Christ, our Lord."
(John Piper in "Seeing and Savoring Jesus Christ")
