Heavenly Father, teach me to number my days that I may gain a Heart
of Wisdom and fulfill your purpose for my life today.

Tuesday, January 6, 2015

Good morning.  It is a beautiful morning.  Low 70s, clear, dry, and a full moon!  Slept very well last night.  Feel very good this morning.

Day 1702 - Living "MNTY" one day at a time.  Made it thru yesterday, I can do it again today.  I will remember the first lesson of I John 2:6 - He who seeks to abide in Christ, "ought himself also to walk, even as he walked"  (Like Christ by Andrew Murray)

Today is MMM and work at the Family Store.  I think I may need to make a new list of things to do - a lots gets done when I make a new list!

Yesterday was a good day.  I was ready for the worst and it happened - but I was ready and it went a lot better than I had expected.

Tomorrow is Wednesday.  A busy day, but get to rest from the work at Bible Study and Prayer Time at Church to end the day.   We will have a short "Haiti Team '15" meeting afterwards.  Almost forgot the spaghetti dinner - to help fund our Haiti Missions Trip.

MY RUDDER AND ANCHOR

(Just ran out of time this morning - I know, should have started earlier, I will tomorrow.  I hope to finish this post this evening.)

Psalm 26:12 - My foot stands in an even place; in the congregations I will bless the Lord.

Proverbs 6:16-19 - These six things the Lord hates, yes, seven are an abomination to Him:  A proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that are swift in running to evil, a false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among brethren.

The Word, Alive in 1 - 5 - (Reading Genesis 16 - 18)  One of the great tests of our faith is waiting upon the Lord.  I may take two weeks, two year, or, as in Abraham's case 25 years for our prayer to be answered or desires fulfilled.  The greatest test of our faith aways results in God's greatest blessings.

From "Knowing God" by J. I. Packer:  Knowledge Applied - If we pursue theological knowledge for its own sake, it is bound to go bad for us.  It will make us proud and conceited.  The very greatness of the subject matter will intoxicate us, and we shall come to think of ourselves as a cut above other Christian because of our interest in and grasp of it.  and we shall look down on those whose theological ideas seem to us as crude and inadequate and dismiss them as very poor specimens.

MMM - just some thoughts:  (1) To recognize that life is good is necessary for me to be useful in life.  (2) Don't work "too" hard to figure everything out.  (3) In Surrender I experience victory and find serenity.  (4)  Discipline is not a four letter word.

Saved by Grace . . . Living by Faith,
Mike

There had to be something,
someone that never came into being.
Back, back, back we peer into endless ages,
yet there never was nothing.
Someone has the honor of being there first and always.
 He never became or developed.
 He simply was and is.
To Whom belongs this singular, absolute glory?
 The answer is Christ,
the person whom the world knows as Jesus of Nazareth.
(John Piper in "Seeing and Savoring Jesus Christ")
