Exactly one year ago today - In Haiti, waiting to go to Leogane!
Good morning. Slept late this morning - was up late last night. The sun actually was up before I was up! It is a beautiful day - and will be busy too. Starting today to get thing packed for the this years missions trip. Leaving next Sunday morning at 9:00 (9:30 CBC Time).
Day 1729 - Living "MNTY" one day at a time. Today, I will remember to Keep it Centered. "For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain."
Today is Church and then home to begin a week of packing (and re-packing). Only taking what I need and most of it we will leave behind for the church and ministry.
Yesterday was a good day. Mowed the yard, went to the gym. and went to Cooleys abut 4:00. Sat with Ray and did some chores for Marylee while she and Doris and Mary went to the Collingsworth concert at Hobe Sound.
Tomorrow is work and the start of a busy week of preparation - got some chores around the house I need to get done before I go to Haiti.
Happy Birthday, Garland, so glad to have you as a friend!
MY RUDDER AND ANCHOR!
Psalm 2:10-12 - Now therefore, be wise, O kings; be instructed, you judges of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling, kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish in the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.
Proverbs 1:
The Word Alive in 1 - 5 (Reading Leviticus 1 - 3)
My Notes on "THE SUNDAY SERMON" Did not start until 10:34, out at 11:59 - I guess that is 'before noon' but who cares? I was offended by Whitney's introduction of the team, but I am the only one who noticed the slight. I know he did not mean any disrespect and meant only good.
FROM A SLAVE, TO THE SAINTS
"An Exposition of Paul's letter to the Philippians"
(Philippians 1:8-11)
CONFIDENT, BUT NOT COMPLACENT!
Doing what God has enabled us to do! Faith in not the finish line, but the starting line. The race begins with faith - it is our 'new' birth. We grow, mature in grace and knowledge of God's love for us, and others.
I. Paul's Love for the Church - v8
"...long for you all with the affection (love) of Jesus Christ."
II. Paul's Prayer for the Church - v9
"...that your love may abound still more and more..."
A defining love...a discerning love. . .a declaring love
III. Paul's Hope for the Church -vs 10,11
"being filled with fruits..."
"Approved things"
1. Proper priorities
2. Personal holiness
3. Prepared for parting
4. Producing fruit
5. Praise and glory of God
For to me, to live is Christ!
Saved by Grace . . . Living by Faith,
Mike
