Good morning. I am back and it is great to resume my normal routine. Had my "Haitien" coffee and chores are done. Ready to begin a 'normal' Monday. We will see how that works for me? It is a beautiful morning - I love mornings!
Day 1744 - Living "MNTY" one day at a time. Today, I will remember that the real problem in communication is that others hear more of what they are thinking than they do of what I am saying.
Today is MMM and work at the Family Store. It is a holiday so the part-time people get the grits while the full-timers get the gravy! So unfair, dishonest, indecent, and immoral! But it is policy of the "haves" and they are not going to share with the "have nots" - and no one cares! Really having a hard time with this!
Jeff and family are all sick. Alicia starts her new job in March.. Doris has a Dr's appointment and an appointment to get the oil changed on the van this morning. Everyone seems to have survived my absence last week.
Roofers just got here to begin finishing the roof. It will look good, it think. I am sure it will out last me.
Yesterday was a good day. I was up a little after four - could not sleep at the mission house after sleeping so well on my cot in Dugue. We left for the airport at 7:30 and at 9:05 were in the air headed for home. I finally pulled up in my drive at home at a about 2:30. It was so good to be home. After catching up on the news, I took a long, hot, shower while Doris finish dinner - grilled chicken and baked potatoes. I could not really rest so did some unpacking - left most of what I took to Haiti, in Haiti. Went to Church and stopped for gas on the way home. It was good to get in my own bed again - slept well.
Tomorrow, I will have a much better view of things - for better or worse.
Last week in Haiti - We were already at the work site - we were concerned about a possible strike by the Tap-tap drivers over the price of gasoline so we went to Dugue right after we got the women settled in at the compound. On Monday last week I got the kitchen set up and we began the job of rewiring the church building. Oatmeal for breakfast, PB,J for lunch, Raman noodles for dinner. It was a good day.
Saved by Grace . . . Living by Faith,
Mike
