My Prayer For "My Next Thirty Years"

Heavenly Father, teach me to number my days that I may gain a Heart
of Wisdom and fulfill your purpose for my life today.

Sunday, April 12, 2015

Good morning.  Up early - forgot it was Sunday!  Had to chase the coon out of the back room again - she like the cat's food.  Cloudy but clearing today - another beautiful morning in Stuart.

Day 1798 - Living "My Next Thirty Years" one day at a time.  Today, I will remember that what may be a 'big deal' today becomes 'no big deal' in time.

Today is Church.  A normal Sunday as far as I know - but I do not know much.  I need to finish a few things around the yard.  May stop at Walmart after church to get my glasses fixed - need new nose pieces.  I really need to clean my desk off - but, may leave that for when it is raining and I cannot do anything else.  And then again, I may just sit and watch (sleep thru) a Cubs ballgame.

Yesterday was a good day.  Weather was perfect - brief morning shower.  I got the yard mowed - took a while from start to finish.  Went to the gym early but cannot do much yet.  Picked up Ray and Marylee to go out for Ray's 83rd birthday - we ate at Outback and then when back to their place for dominoes and dessert.  It was a good day.

Tomorrow is back to work.  I know it will be a tough week - it will take me a while to catch up after being off Friday.  It is Rosemary's last week but hopefully we will have a new driver starting Monday.

I have a Drs' appointment on Thursday for my medicare annual checkup.

Hope to get started on the painting this week.  I did not expect to be this busy and working this hard in my retirement!

[Just got home from church - it is raining, so I guess I will work at my desk for a while.  Doris is fixing pork chops!  Rain has stopped but it is too wet outside to do anything.]

MY RUDDER AND ANCHOR!

Psalm 59:17 - Unto thee, O my Strength, will I sing:  for God is my defence and the God of my mercy.

Proverbs 12:15 - The way of a fool is right in his own eyes;  but he that harkens unto counsel
is wise.

The Word Alive in 1 - 5  (Reading II Samuel 3-5)

My Notes on "THE SUNDAY SERMON"

Back in Philippians today - finished chapter one!  Bob Wing gave us some yellow tomatoes and some meatloaf he had canned using the pressure canner that Doris gave him.  It was a good message but way too long.  It should not take an hour to make three simple points.  I do not know if Phillip does not trust his ability to communicate, our ability to understand, or The Holy Spirit's ability to apply the message!  But it does not matter - to anyone but me.

FROM A SLAVE, TO THE SAINTS
"An exposition of Paul letter to the Philippians"
(Philippians 1:17-30)

Three distinctives of Citizens of Heaven serving as His Ambassadors on Earth:

1.  The stand firm in the Faith!
"...in one spirit, with one mind..."

2.  They strive for the Faith!
"...together for the faith of the Gospel;"

3.  They share the Conflict of the Faith
"...which ye saw in me, and now hear to be in me."

Our love must be defined by His Truth, not our preference.

Standing up when those around you are bowing down!

Saved by Grace . . . Living by Faith,
Mike
