Sunday, August 7, 2016

Good morning.  Up a little later this morning - it is Sunday, the one day that I can take my time getting started.  It is a beautiful day - maybe some late afternoon showers - it IS summer in South Florida!

Day 2283 - Living "My Next Thirty Years" one day at a time.  Today, I will remember to be filled up - GrateFUL, HopeFUL, PrayerFUL, and HelpFUL!

Today is Church.  After church, we bought a couple of steaks to cook our with baked potatoes and corn on the cob.  Then watching the Cubs and Angles - Cubs going for their 8th win in a row!  Church again this evening - the YP are reporting on their week at Summer Camp.

Yesterday was a good day.  I was frustrated early when my new lawnmower would not start, so I gave up and used my old one.  I got-r-done! Got MMM bookkeeping done and then went to Publix (for the steaks).

Tomorrow is Monday - let's do it all again!

This week I will be house/dog sitting for AJ and Maryellen from Wednesday to Sunday.  It will be interesting - certainly a different schedule.  They are a half-hour from work and home and MMM.

"TILL THE STORM PASSES OVER!"

Psalm 38:21,22 - Forsake me not, O Lord:  O my God, be not far from me.  Make hast to help me, O Lord my salvation.

Proverbs 7:1,2 - My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with htee.  Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.

Leaning on the Word in "16 - (Reading Isaiah 32 - 37)  "The Lord will surely deliver us" - Isa 36:14-16.

My Notes on THE SUNDAY SERMON:  Pastor Phillip was out of town today - Darrin Roberts, College and Careers Pastor/Teacher from Grace Immanuel Bible Church in Jupiter was our guest teacher.

"AN ALMOST PERFECT CHURCH"
Revelation 2:1-7

Not a message of condemnation, but an
encouragement to take preventive measures.  Not to carry on
our own agenda, but to carry out our commission.  Not to forget
the sacrifices and service of those who have gone on before.

     I.  The Virtues of the Church at Ephesus - vs 2,3
          "I know your deeds..."

II.  The Vices of the Church at Ephesus - v 4
"But I have THIS against you... "

III.  The Victory of the Church at Ephesus - v 5
"Remember..., Repent..., Return (do the deeds you did at
          at first)"

"Repentance is not only confession, but always yields fruit!"
