HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

We will try this again - the PC just would not cooperate yesterday!  So I just gave up and  took a walk with the boys!  Trying to spend as much time with them as I can - they will be moving to GA in just two weeks.

Good morning.  Up late - it is Sunday.  Every one is still asleep so I am trying to be quiet.  It is a beautiful morning.  Weather is steadily improving.  Don't need the time to enjoy it, just need to enjoy the time I have.

All my "Fathers" are dead - I have out lived them.  At my age, I should not need someone to instruct, to encourage, to inspire me - but I do!  I miss Ralph Lewis Roarks, my father; and my other "fathers" - Richard Baker, Robert Shotts, Lowell Denman, Lowell Wright, and Dan Holland.  Thanks for your investment in my life - I am sorry the dividends were not greater. May I pay it forward to this next generation of fathers.

Day 1500 - Living "My Next Thirty Years" one day at a time.   Today, I will remember that grand children are God's way of giving us another chance to do it again and maybe a little better this time.

Boys are up and I had a shower, not they already want to take a bike ride.  Maybe after breakfast.

Today is Church - honoring fathers today.  We do not need to be remind how we have failed, just encouraged to know that there is still time to do better.  And I know we all want to!  Doris and the boys are staying home - they are making father's day cards for Jeff and making a short video to send to him.

Yesterday was a good day.  Worked all day. Doris took the boys to the Dollar Store.  Alicia left me a card and gift - a gold watch and bracelet - I told her that the older I got the more gaudy I needed.  I really like them.  We went to the mall ( Marks and Morgan ) to get them sized.  Doris bought her a Yankee candle.  It rained all evening and most of the night.  We got some upsetting news too - but I cannot say anything about it because Doris does not want the "whole world" to know our business - at least not from me.  Out of respect for her feelings, I will not say any more.

Tomorrow is Monday, the start of another work week.  A short week - I have Friday off.  We hope to be able to take the three younger boys to LCS on Friday.  Will be an eventful week - so much to work out - so much I cannot do anything about.  Trusting Him!

GUIDELINES & GUARDRAILS

Psalm 71:3 - Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort:  thou has given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress.

Proverbs 15:3 - The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

Bible Pathways (reading thru the Bible once more in 1-4) - Job 1-4  Our God, the Master Planner, is still in full control.  Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, and today, and for ever (Hebrews 13:8)

Notes on "THE SUNDAY SERMON"

Full house, good spirit, visitors, and some old friends.  Good to see John and Joann back.  Happy to see Jonathan in the service too - praying for him - he showed such a good spirit in Haiti.  Pastor Phillip preach on:

God's Priorities for Fathers
"Teach it, Live it"
(Proverbs 1 - 10)

Wisdom is Gracious, foolishness is Grievous!

Fathers, Teach the the next generation of fathers to:

1.  To Fear the Lord - v 1:7
It is the good beginning the leads to glorious end.

2.  To Guard the Heart - v 2:10
It determines the issues of life.

3.  To Control your Body (Mind) - v 5:1-18
Instruction does not eliminate the danger!

4.  To Obey or else - vs 3:1-35
Let thine heart keep my commandments.

5.   To choose well their companions - v 18:24
      Peer-pressure is a powerful pull!

6.   To Work - Hard! - v 10:4
      Do your work well.

7.   To Manage his Money - v 6:1-11
Not to be managed by money!

8.   To Know the Lord - v 3:9
Seeing the Lord in a living example!

"If I don't, Who will?"

Saved by Grace . . . Living by Faith,
Mike
