Good morning, and good-bye August, 2014! Slept much better last night. At least I slept through the night - I don't remember getting up anyway. Got up early only because it hurt too much to just lay there. Could not figure out what day it was, thought it was Saturday for some reason.
But it is Sunday. I am getting to really dislike Sunday mornings - have to determine each week to go to Sunday morning church. I do not like anything about it - the start time, the music, the (dis)order of the service, the length of the service, the disrespect and disorder of the congregation, and the general arrogance of the the leadership. But I do like the preaching of the Word - so I go!
Day 1575 - Living "My Next Thirty Years" one day at a time. Today I will remember that if it only matters to me, it only matters to me.
Today is Church, the second half of the message on "Ten Tips to Tame the Tongue!" Will watch a Cubs game if it is on. Maybe go to the gym if the Cubs are not on. I need to work on cleaning up the back room and maybe cleaning off the porches too. Lots to do but nothing I can not put off until tomorrow.
Yesterday was a good day. Mowed the yard - looks good. made a trip to Publix - spent the rest of our money. Went to gym - may have strained something. Watched "Sharkenado (1,2)" {would have been a real waste of time but I folded laundry and rested while I watched - and I need a good laugh anyway} and went to bed.
Tomorrow is Labor Day - I am off (without pay)! Just had to add that - it is what it is but that does not make it right, fair, just, moral, or christian, or scriptural. Just saying! Anyway I am off and can do what I put off yesterday until tomorrow. May go over to the Cooley's place and work on their patio after I go to the gym. Maybe - if Doris and Alicia have not made other plans, may anyway.

6. Don't Be too Quick!
Some people have an answer for everything; and it is generally
the same answer. Do not be one who speaks up too quickly and
says too much. Often, the more we say the less others listen.
(Proverbs 10:19; James 1:19)
7. Don't Grumble!
Grumbling is testing (doubting) the Lord! It Robs Him of His
glory in the eyes of others and robs us of our joy in His
gracious provision for us. (Phil. 2:14,15: cf Deut. 6;16; I Cor.
10:10)
8. Don't Make Excuses!
With our tongue, we excuse ourselves and blame others. Take
responsibility for your actions. There is a cost in Discipleship.
(Luke 14:18)
9. Don't Be Silly (Secular)!
To joke about the sin of others is not sowing the seeds of right-
eousness. Do not mock, but morn those in bondage. Do not be
disgraceful, but thankful in our speech. (Eph. 5:4)
10. Don't Chatter !
Chatter is sound without substance; it is noise without
knowledge. It leads to ungodliness and opens our ears error.
Be diligent, be not ashamed, handle the word accurately.
(I Tim. 6:20; II Tim. 2:16)

O for a thousand tongues to sing
My great Redeemer's praise,
The glories of my God and king,
The triumphs of His grace.
My gracious Master and my God,
Assist me to proclaim,
To spread thro' all the earth abroad,
The honors of Thy name.
