Good morning. Up early, slept well. It is cooler this morning but clear and dry. I will not warm up a lot today - high in the upper 60's but will be sunny. A great day for the Air Show.
Welcome to November and the holiday season - two months of greed and one day of thanks!
Living "My Next Thirty Years" one day at a time. Today, I will remember to "Move in the common affairs of life with holiness, diligence, kindness, and integrity." (M&E - CHS)
Today is MMM and work around the house and yard. Putting off mowing for another few day - cool dry weather has really slowed the growth of the grass - YooHoo! I do not 'hate' mowing nearly so much when I do not have to to it nearly so much. I will go to the gym this morning and then get to work. W may have to run to Home Depot to get some pavers for the awning. Will watch the air show too - from the yard.
Yesterday was a good day. Got a lot done at work and had a nice birthday luncheon for Gorki. After work I brought home some Godiva chocolates one of volunteer ladies sent to Doris for her birthday and a piece of cake from the luncheon. I was going to go to the gym, but Doris mentioned how much she would enjoy getting the new awning when it was up - so I worked on it instead. And it is done - well almost. I still have to square it up and determine it final position.
We had a good evening - went to Red Lobster and had scrimp. Good food and great service - we gave her the biggest tip we have ever given anyone! Then to the mall and got me my watch to replace the one that I lost (was stolen). She gave me 25% off when I told her it was my Father's day gift from my daughter. I am so happy with it! Oh, yes, and we went to Yankee Candle and got Doris four new candles. And we went to Walmart (too avoid the trick-r-treaters) and got a few things.
Tomorrow is church and then Beth and Bob with Zach and Zoey are coming for a cookout and to watch the airshow from our back yard.
GUIDELINES & GUARDRAILS
Psalm 1:1,2 - Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night.
Proverbs 1:7 - The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Bible Pathways (reading thru the Bible once more in 1 - 4) - John 1 - 3
Turning Points (with David Jeremiah) - "Gratuity Not Included: God" ( Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights. James 1:17 ) As Christians we do not think of ourselves as lucky, but as blessed.
MMM - just some thoughts: (1) The future is make up of today and todays to come. (2) It has never been better. (3) This is a 'graceful' way of being right, and a great many ways to be wrong.
Saved by Grace . . . Living by Faith,
Mike
