My Birthday, 2015!

Good morning.  Up early, getting an early start on a busy day.  I will spend my birthday in church and getting ready for Jean and Marv.  Should have done more yesterday - oh, that is right, I worked yesterday - all day!

Day 1707 - Living "MNTY" one day at a time.  Today, I will remember that as I begin my 69th year,  "My Next Thirty Years" will be very interesting.  Never been "old" before!

Today is Church - Cooleys are going to be there, at least Marylee, Ray is not getting around much any more.  After church I will be busy doing laundry, and scrubbing the bathroom - getting ready for Jean and Marv.  They should be here sometime tomorrow afternoon.  They are probably leaving their house just about now - it is 27 and cloudy there and 72 and sunny here!

Yesterday was a good day!  Rosa told me not to be so grumpy - I told her I would quit being grumpy when she began being fair - guess I will be grumpy for a long time.  Roofers got the roof ready for the metal but will not get to it until probably Monday.  Was really tired, went to bed early.

Tomorrow is Monday!  Looking forward to having company for the next two weeks.

Haiti trip is on my mind - getting ready, at least in my mind!  Four weeks from today!

MY RUDDER AND ANCHOR!

Psalm 51:12,13 - Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me by Your generous Spirit.  Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, and sinners shall be converted to You.

Proverbs 11:2,12 - When pride comes, then comes shame; but with the humble is wisdom.  He who is devoid of wisdom despises his neighbor, But a man of understanding holds his peace.

The Word is Alive in 1 - 5  (Reading Genesis 31-33)

My Notes on "THE SUNDAY SERMON"

Full house (almost), good spirit, good music, good message - I guess I have nothing to complain about today.   But it is not a rule the preacher has to preach for a full hour!  Still would like to be able to say that we were out before noon - not that it matters, just sound better than saying we did not get out until after noon!

FROM A SLAVE, TO THE SAINTS
"An Exposition of Paul's Letter to the Philippians"
( Philippians 1:1)

Read it, to live it!  Four chapter, 104 verses.  There are no throw-away verses to be skipped over to get to the point of Scripture!  All Scripture is given by inspiration and is profitable.  Make it your own study!

Slavery is unnatural, Slavery is universal!

There are two master, sin or the Savior!

Four Truths about Slavery:

1.  A slaves needs are provided by his master.
2.  A slaves duties are determined by his master.
3.  A slaves supplies are provided by his master.
4.  A slaves value is determined by his master's status.

Jesus is the source of the joy and unity in our service!

Saved by Grace . . . Living by Faith,
Mike
