Good morning, I heard the alarm go off at 5:02 but did not get up until 5:28 - just lazy, and lacking in simple self-discipline. I think discipline has a lot to do with motivation. I can do anything with the right motivation. I learn that at MCRD, San Deigo! But that was a long time ago! Anyway...it is cold and windy here this morning - mid 50s, but clear and dry. It will be hard riding my bike today.
But it will be in the low 90s and all sun in PaP today. One month from today we will be in Haiti for 8 days of "building boats and mending net!" My support is about 1/2 there but am confident it will all be provided.
Day 1704 - Living "MNTY" one day at a time. Today I will remember that dying for Christ may bring glory to God,but living for Christ brings others to God.
Today is My Morning Meeting and work at the Family Store. Doris is picking up the Cooleys tonight - I probably will not go with them- four people, and the dog is a full load with their luggage and the dog carrier.
Yesterday was a good day. I was on the truck again. And we have begun re-arranging the store, so I was grumpy about that - I do not mind change so much, I just want to be involved and to know the plan. I really do not think that is asking too much. It should be a team effort!
Tomorrow is Friday. Got to get some things ready for Jean and Marv.
Saturday I work. Sunday is my Birthday! Monday Jean and Marv get here.
MY RUDDER AND ANCHOR
Psalm 36:7,9 - How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings. For with You is the Fountain of life; in Your light we see light.
Proverbs 8:10,11 - Receive my instruction, and not silver, and knowledge rather than choice gold; for wisdom is better than rubies, and all the things one may desire cannot be compared with her.
The Word, Alive in 1 - 5 - (Reading Genesis 22 - 24) "My son, God will provide Himself a lamb for a burnt offering (22:8)"
From "Knowing God" by J. I. Packer: Knowledge Applied - We must seek, in studying God, to be led to God. It was for this purpose that revelation was given, and it is to this use that we must put it.
MMM - just some thoughts: (1) Life on God's terms; not just life on life's terms. (2) If I could...I would. (3) I do not 'have' to - one day at a time.
Saved by Grace . . . Living by Faith,
Mike

A Prayer - And grant that
whether rich or poor, sick or sound,
we might be transformed by Him
and become an echo of His excellence in the world.
In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
( John Piper in "Seeing and savoring Jesus Christ")
