THE END IS NEAR HERE!
Good morning. It is a beautiful morning! What a way to end the year! And to start the New Year. It has been 13 days since I have been on here - just been busy (lazy and misguided priorities). But I am back and hope to be better organized with my time this new year. Thanks for your encouragement thru the year.
It has not been a bad year, as Tom Malone always said, "it is just life." Living is what we do before dying and it is by dying that we enter into a new life. Doris is on the mend, all our expenses are current, our fridge is full, and I am still working. I find that the more thankful I am, the less needful I am.
Today is MMM and then I begin another 4 day weekend. At least that is the present plan. Taking care of some business at my desk then to the gym and then some work in the back room. Helping Doris get the tree down and put away - everything else (to do with Christmas) is done. If I have some time left I will mow the yard, weather permitting.
Yesterday was a good day. About half way caught up at the store - will get behind some more because the store will be open Saturday. Went to prayer and bible study at church - took some oranges and orange juice that I got at the store for the Youth Camp Out this weekend. Talked to Pastor Philip about the 2016 Missions Trip - it will be more expensive this year - I will have to raise another 400 dollars. But HE knows. We are going to a remote mountain village in Guatemala. The same mission, just a different location. We will not have to worry about being too hot!
Tomorrow I hope to get a chance to spend some time at the ocean - just resting and relaxing, meditating on my hopes for the new year - being more calm, caring and considerate. I want to go up and help Jeff move but we just cannot afford that right now - would love to see the little boys. Doris has extra medical expenses in January.
We are getting a good head start on 2016! It has been a good year!
MY RUDDER AND ANCHOR!
Psalm 119:11 -
Proverbs 31:
The Word Alive in 1 - 5 (Reading Revelation 21,22) - Our war against sin and self will soon end and there will be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away (21:4).
Morning & Evening with Charles Spurgeon. "Sinfulness of character is no bar to the invitation to believe in Jesus - all one needs is a thirst" (John 7:37)
MMM - just some thoughts: (1) Dave's 7th is tomorrow. (2) I open Saturday - don't forget! (3) God's will is often just a set of directions.
Saved by Grace . . . Living by Faith (one day at a time),
