Sunday, February 21, 2016

Good morning.  It is Sunday, the first day of the new week.  It is good to start our week giving our first hours too Him who gave his last hours for us!

Day 2213 - Living "My Next Thirty Years" one day at a time.  Today, I will remember prayer is the path, the Word is the light. and His glory is our goal.

Today is church and some rest.  I need both!  But it is so hard to rest without feeling guilty about all the things around you that need to be done.  But I have become way to comfortable in my procrastination.

Yesterday was a good day.  Mowed the yard, went to Walmart, stopped at the Chrysler dealership to get another key for the van ($232.) and spent the evening with Ray - played dominoes, ate pizza, and watched Notre Dame and Georgia Tech basketball.  Doris, Marylee, Mary, and Margaret went to see the Booth Brothers in Hobe Sound.  She brought home a record - yes a LP, they seem to be making a come back.  I can't wait untill they bring back the 8-tracks!

Tomorrow begins another work week.  And Doris goes back to see Dr Rosen and will talk about Radiation.  We are not looking forward to it - no decisions have been made yet.

Getting ready to go to Guatemala!  Just a week from this coming Saturday.  Hoping Doris will be ok for me to go.  If she has to have radition, we will probably put it off until I get back.  I will only be gone a week.

Boys are coming the end of March for a few days - miss them so much!  Hope to get over to see our great granddaughter, Serenity, soon too.  I love and pray for my grandkids daily that God would draw them unto Himself that they might come to know Him, and love Him, and desire to serve Him!

'TIL THE STORM PASSES OVER!

Psalm 102:12 - But Thou, O Lord, shall endure forever; and Thy remembrance unto all generations.

Proverbs 21:2 - Every way of a man is right in his own eyes:  but the Lord pondereth their hearts.

Lean on the Word in '16 - (Reading Numbers 19,20)  When we try to impress others with our importance, the Lord will not be glorified.  I am crucified with Christ; nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me:  and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me (Galatians 2:20).

My Notes on "The Sunday Sermon"  Pasor Phillip took a break from Colossians 3 to speak on mission in preparation for our annual Missions Conference begining next Sunday.  This years theme is "URGENCY!"  He did a good job promoting the Faith-Promise Offering - I think the whole budget should be funded by Faith-Promise.

WHAT IS JESUS WORTH, TO YOU?
ARE YOU SACRIFICING THE LAME?

   I.  Missions costs us our home!  Lk 9:57,58

II.  Missions costs us our fortune!  Lk 9 59,60

III.  Missions costs us our family!  Lk 9 61,62

IV.  Missions cost us our reputation!  John 1517-19

Are We Giving God Our Best or j\Just the Rest

Saved by Grace . . . Living by Faith,
Mike and Doris
