Good morning, slept well, slept late.
But I am in no way ready for this day - dreading it all weekend, resent it with a passion! I want to call in sick but cannot! And I resent that no one understands, no one care, and no one can do anything about it. Prayer is not working and trying to change my attitude just makes it worse.
But it is a beautiful mid-winter day in sunny South Florida!
Day 1716 - Living "MNTY" one day at a time. Today, I will try to remember that work is life - I must live it too. I must live "in the Shadow of the Cross!"
Today is work all day - it will be dark when I get home!
Yesterday was a good day. Church and then the cruise and then an early dinner at Twisted Tuna. It was good but nothing worth going back for. Ransom Maggard taught Haggai at Church in the evening service and did a good job.
Tomorrow has got to be better - but who knows.
All in all, it was a very good weekend with Jean and Marv. We are glad to have them.
Really have got to start thinking about preparations for the Haiti Trip - just three weeks from today will be our first morning in Haiti.
MY RUDDER AND ANCHOR!
Psalm 86:3-5 - Be merciful to me, O Lord, for I cry to You all day long. Rejoice the soul of Your servant, For to You, O Lord, I lift up my soul. for You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You.
Proverbs 19:11 - The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger, and his glory is to overlook a transgression.
The Word is Alive in 1 - 5 (Reading Exodus 5-7) Our confidence is not in our circumstances but in our confession. "I will bring you out!"
From "Knowing God" by J. I. Packer: Evidences of Knowing God - Yet the invariable fruit of true knowledge of God is energy to pray for God's cause.
MMM - just some thoughts: (1) LBB - I believe that God had already seen my heart's needs before I cried to Him. (2) RFX - We have a 24/7 God.
Saved by Grace . . . Living by Faith,
Mike

For those who have tasted the joy of Jesus, surely nothing is more compelling than the all-surpassing hope of hearing his final word, "Well done, good and faithful servant...enter into the joy of your Master." (Mathew 25:21) The city of God is a city of joy. And that joy is the indestructible joy of Christ.
( John Piper in "Seeing and Savoring Jesus Christ")
