Saturday, March 10, 2018

Good morning.  It is warmer this morning, a high today in the upper 70's!  It is a beautiful morning - sunny and dry.  High tomorrow of low 80's!!!

Day 2947 - Living "My Next Thirty Years" one day at a time.

Today is my Saturday to work at the Family Store.  This evening I will start packing for the missions trip.  A lot of last minute chores to do for Doris too.

Yesterday was a good day.  AJ and Maryellen got home a day early so I got to sleep in my own bed last night.  I enjoyed house/dog sitting for them and Lotto!  But glad to be home with Doris and able to help here.

Tomorrow is church and finishing packing for the trip.

Next week in Guatemala - not sure about blog posts next week?

Today is My Morning Meeting and work at the Family Store.  This afternoon, after I take care of Lotto we are going out to buy a new printer and then dinner - maybe Ruby Tuesday's.

Yesterday was a good day.  We went to Walmart!

Tomorrow, I have to work  but AJ will be home sometime in the afternoon so I will not have to go back out to the ranch.  Last minute chores and packing for the missions trip.

Good morning.  Another ho-hum day in paradise.  Doris's flowers have really perked up with the sunshine and cool temps.

Day 2944 - Living "My Next Thirty Years" one day at a time.

Today, after work, I will go with Doris for an appointment in WPB.  Just some business, not health related.  Bible Study at church - a lot of people gone so the crowd will be small, maybe.

Yesterday was a good day.  Worked all day (till 6:00) - Jeff and Teresa were both out, and it was Darla's day off.  Long day and was really tired.  Feel better this morning.

Have to work Saturday too.  I guess I will pack for my trip to  Guatemala Sunday afternoon, and Monday morning.  We will leave for the airport about 7:30 - that will not leave me much time for last minute packing.

Good morning, another cool morning - 58 and full sun!!  It is a beautiful morning.  Slept much better last night and was on time for my morning meeting.  A good start to a good day!

Day 2843 - Living "My Next Thirty Years" one day at a time.  Writing my story in the present tense!

Today is Tuesday. trash day.  I guess that is why I slept so well last night, I took the trash out before I went to sleep!

Yesterday was a good day, went to the dentist, got bad news and good news.  I need to get a tooth fixed ($$$) - the good news is that he can fix it.  It will all work out!  I was late to work but it was a slow day and everything was covered.  Jeff and Teresa were off.

A week from today I will be waking up in the mountains of Guatemala.  Still do not have all the funding for the trip but am sure the Lord will take care of it in His time, and in His way!  His purpose never goes unfulfilled!  Am so looking forward to being with the churches in and around Santa Tomas.

I am enjoying the peace and quiet of the country (at AJ's) but keep thinking of all the work I am leaving undone around here.  But it is not going anywhere soon, it will be here when I get here.

Have not heard from Marylee - Doris will call today.

Monday, March 5, 2018

Good morning!  It is cold (to us "native" Floridians!  But sunny and dry.  Just glad I am not in the northeast this morning.

Day 2842 - Living "My Next Thirty Years" one day at a time.

Today is a dental appointment with Dr. Turke.   Then work, then home to do some chores, and then back out to the ranch to care for Lotto.  Way to much to do this week but it is what it is.

Yesterday was a good day.  A great day of worship, celebration, and fellowship at church.  Celebrated the Lord's Supper and Baptized new believers.  The church was full. and the food was filling.  Went home and took a short nap before going back out to AJ's.

Tomorrow is much of the same - trying to make every minute count.

We leave for Guatemala next Monday at noon!  Will be back the following Saturday evening.  Mostly a teaching and planning meeting for the teen trip in June.  Hope to go with them - but the money will be the determining factor.  The Lord Knows!

Doris has her Chemo next week also - wish I could be here for her but she said she would be ok and said I could go.  She has one more after this one and then some tests to measure the effectiveness of the treatments and determine any further treatment.

Maybe the boys will come and see Grandma soon - would be so good.

Good Morning, it is a beautiful day - cooler and less humid today.  A great day to enjoy our new pergola.

Day 2839 - Living "My Next Thirty Years" one day at a time.  Today is ... Yesterday was ... Tomorrow may be!!!

Today is work at the Family Store and then the Gym.  Nothing planned outside the home this evening, but lots to catch up on around the house.  Norm just called and let me know that he was reserving our tickets for Guatemala for Monday morning, March 12.

Yesterday was a good day.  A better day at work and a good close to the Missions Conference.  Everyone raved about Doris's chocolate sheet cake.

But we got word from Cindy that her mom, our dear friend, Marylee has not been given long - her cancer has spread beyond treatment.  We love her so and hope to see her if we can make the trip to New York!

Tomorrow is a work in progress!

I have got to get started on this post earlier - I always run out of time.

Day 2837 - "Living My Next Thirty Years" one day at a time.

Today, after work, I will start back to Gold's Gym.  I am about 50 years too late, but just want to make sure everything is still working.  Missions Conference tonight.

Yesterday was a good day, finished assembling the pergola.  Doris was happy!  Me too!

Tomorrow is the annual Fish Fry and final closing session of the Missions Conference. Steadfast Servants Men meeting at 6:00 am.

Good morning, it is a beautiful day!  My older brother, James Lee, is celebrating his birthday today!  Happy birthday Jim!

Day 2326 - Living "My Next Thirty Years" one day at a time..

Today I meet with my AJ at Walmart (McD) for coffee.  Then work at the Family Store.  We hired another part-time clerk so things have been a little easier on me - a little!  After work I want to finish assembling the pergola that I bought for Doris.  A one day job for 2 men, but I am not 2 men.  Today will be day 4 and Doris is getting...anxious!

Yesterday was a good day.  First day of our Missions Conference.  Good crowd and start to the Conference.  Worked on the pergola and went to the Stuart Lodge in the afternoon.

Tomorrow - plan to enjoy the new pergola with Doris!

Missions trip is planned for March 12 - 18.  So excited to get an opportunity to get "out of my self" and really serve others for a change.

Doris is feeling better  - the second week after chemo is always better!

Got to go - got a late start.

Good morning.  I am back!  Got a new computer and learning how to use it:  Navigation is a nightmare right now - mainly the keyboard - may have to go back to the old one!

Lot to do today - assembling a new pergola I got for Doris - it is really difficult single handedly!

Today begins our annual Missions Conference at Community.  begins with a church-wide fellowship this afternoon and ends Wednesday with a "fishing for souls" fish fry!  A lot of eating!

Missions trip to Guatemala is the week of the12th - plan to go if all works out!

One day at a time.

Good morning,  I hit the snooze once to many times this morning, am running late.  But I will catch up.  It is a beautiful morning!

Anyway, coffee is made (used some of my Guatemalan coffee), cats are fed, almost dressed - ready to begin.

I am having a serious problem with Blogger - error message keep interrupting my post.  Hope it will quit soon.  That will not happen - got to do something about it!

I may have found a solution, I changed browsers - we will see.

Wednesday, May 3, 2017

Good morning.  It is a beautiful morning.

Well, I am back - my last post was exactly 7 months ago.  The great reason for my absence has to to with the health and welfare of family.  A lesser reason is my own laziness - it is always easier to do nothing than to do something.  I long as I have good intentions I could put off anything!

A lot has happened in the last seven months - including a broken arm in October.  Then in December my son and his family came for an almost four month visit.  And in March I spent eight days in Guatemala with our missions team.

Oh, and yes, THE CUBS WON THE WORLD SERIES!

Not to mention we have a new MAN in the White House.

Today is Men' Bible Study at 6:00 am and then work at the Family Store.  We have just reopened the store after putting down a new floor.  We are really only about half done and it will be at least the rest of the month before we get everything back in place.  It was really ill-planned and the actual work is sub-par - in my opinion.  But it is what it is and we will live with it and make it work. I think we expected too much and the company we hired underestimated the size of the job.

Yesterday was a good day.  Doris and I are painting the interior of the house - even though I have not finished the exterior yet, but I will!  It has been a good experience, Doris actually appreciates my help, and I really do not mind helping her.  W got a good rain yesterday so I will have to think about mowing the yard.

Tomorrow is Thursday.  Last Thursday I worked in the yard all day since I was off because of the store closing.  This Thursday I am working but will try to get the yard mowed.  Might put it off until Friday since I will have a three day weekend this week (worked last Saturday).

GUIDELINES AND GUARDRAILS

Psalm 16:11 - You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; in Your
right hand there are pleasures forever.

Proverbs 3:1,2 - My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments; for                               length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you.

Reading thru the Bible, once again in "17 - Read II Kings 6-8  (Obedient Christians need not fear for tomorrow!  instead, we can rejoice in the promises of God, who shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus - Philippians 4:19)

Keep It Simple - We all make mistakes!  We do the Steps to claim our mistakes!  We recover when we
learn from our mistakes.

MMM - just some thoughts:  (1) LBB - Easy does it does not mean not doing it.  It can be hard work.
(2) RFX - ...our willingness to clean house is still largely theoretical.

Wednesday, September 7, 2016

Good morning!  It is a beautiful morning.  Warm and humid, partly cloudy - but not rain, yet.  I love living in (almost) paradise!

Day 2311 - Living "My Next Thirty Years" one day at a time.  Today, I will remember to live each day as my first day!

Today is A & E @ McD with AJ.  Then work, it is dollar day at the FS.  And it is the first Wednesday of the month so it will be very busy.  Church tonight, maybe the gym too?

Yesterday was a good day.  Really got to get more done around the house in the evenings - there is just the two of us and Doris can't do it all!

Tomorrow may be the day!

We had a great weekend with the little boys in GA.  We took them to see "Pete's Dragon."  And I took them swimming in the Motel pool.

Getting ready now for my weekend trip to Haiti with Pastor Phillip.  It will be interesting.  Also thinking about our 2017 Missions Trip to Guatamale in March.  Time flies!

Jeff in on the road, on his way back from California.  Alicia is getting ready to go to NC for Zacks Graduation from Basic Training in October.

Friday, September 2, 2016

Good morning.   It is a beautiful day - it is not raining, yet!

Day 2236 - Living "My Next Thirty Years" one day at a time!  Today, I will remember that even though I know the truth, I prefer to live the lie!  Jesus said I am the truth, may I today live in the truth!

Today is MMM and work at the FS.  It has been a good week at work.  Off Monday, Labor Day.  Rosa is off today and all next week!  It will be a tough week I am sure.

Yesterday was a good day.

No trip to see the boys - weather - (TS Hermine)!  Kelli said they will come down the first week in October.  So miss my little boys!

Got to go...

Thursday, September 1, 2016

Good morning.  It is a beautiful day - well, you know what I mean.  Hermine is to make land fall in northern Florida this morning.  We are safe, but wet!

Day 2308 - Living "My Next Thirty Years" one day at a time.  Today I will remember that God Is..., and I am Not!

Today is MMM and work at the FS.  It has been a good week at work, I havve gotten a lot done and no one has interferred, much.  Gym this afternoon - I worked out extra on Tuesday and am feeling it today.

Yesterday was a good day.  I am enjoying Wednesday Bible Study at Church more since they returned to the New (old) format.  And attendance has picked up too.

Tomorrow is Friday - Going up to see the boys Saturday morning, will return Sunday evening.

This weekend is very iffy as far as the weather is concerned, but we are going to see the boys anyway!  We will not see them again until we go up for Payton's Birthday on Dec. 20.

Monday is Labour Day - I am off (unpaid of course) but still gives me a three day weekend.

I am feeling good and Doris is doing well too.  We are so thankful for our health and the provision God makes for us each day.  We seem to have more when we want less!

Friday, August 19, 2016

Good morning.  It is Friday, and I am off - Yoo Hoo!!!  And it is a beautiful morning!

Day 2295 - Living "My Next Thirty Year" one day at a time.  Today, I will remember that my judgements of others are usually based knowledge - of myself!  My perceptions, my resentments, my expectations.  Rarely does it have anything to do with them.

Today is MMM and work around the house and yard.  Maybe a trip to Walmart - Doris 'needs' a 'few' things.  Maybe the gym.  Definitely got to get the back room clean up and better organized.

Yesterday was a good day.  Did not do much - put it all off for today.

Tomorrow is The second day of my three day weekend - maybe will spend some time at the ocean in the morning and then mow the yard in the afternoon or evening.  A lot of maybe - I will just get started and see where I end up.  I always ask myself the question at the store, "Where do I start?" - the answer is always the same - "Where you are!"

This weekend next month I will be in Port-au-Prince with Pastor Phillip!  Really looking forward to it!  Hope to see Moise and Reggie again.

Thursday, August 18, 2016

Good morning!  I saw a big, full, yellow, moon low in the western sky this morning - I guess it is not unusual but I hadn't noticed it just like that before - at least in my recent memory!  It is a beautiful morning.

Day 2294 - Living "My Next Thirty Years" one day at a time.  Today, I will remember EVERY thing that has happend in my life has happened to bring me to this day - and it is a good day.  My life is lived one day at a time, so TODAY is the best day of my life!

Today is MMM and work at the FS.  Final day of my work-week, looking forward to a three day weekend.  Lots to do!!!  I plan to go to Gold's today - really got to get back into my exercise routine.

Yesterday was a good day.  At church last night, Pastor Phillip ask me to go to Haiti with him for the Re-dedication Service of Jacque's new Church building - the one that colapsed in the earthquake in 2009.  It will be an honor and great opportunity for me to see old friends and see the new church.

Tomorrow is a day off - what do I do on my day off?  We need to do some serious housecleaning for sure, and there is alway yard work to do.  I am sure my list is longer than my day!

Got to go!

Good morning.  A brief shower this morning, sunny now, still some passing clouds and thunder.  It is a beautiful day. Unusually hungry this morning.

Day 2293 - Living "My Next Thirty Years" one day at a time.  Today, I will remember to keep busy and to keep quiet - my job is NOT making sure that you do yours!

Today is Wednesday - dollar day at the store.

Yesterday was a good day.  Got a little more yard work done.

Tomorrow is the day before my 3 day weekend!

Looking forward to a very productive weekend.

Tuesday, August 16, 2016

Good morning.  It is a beautiful morning - hot and humid, just the way I like it!  Mostly clear, I saw the little dipper this morning - stars were shining brightly!

Day 2292 - Living "My Next Thirty Years" one day at a time.  Today, I will remember that willingness builds will-power.

Today is MMM and work at the Family Store.  Teresa is still off so I will try to get my area all cleaned up and clothes out for tomorrow's sale.  Gym after work and then home to do some more yard work - trimming mostly.

Yesterday was a good day.  Got the yard mowed and the rest of my laundry done.

Tomorrow is hump day - need a little extra to get up and over!  But it starts with A&E with AJ at McD and ends with Bible study and prayer at Church.

Off Friday - going fishing!
